Amazon Tax Compliance Manager, International Tax Compliance in Mexico City, Mexico

Description

Amazon is looking for a Sr. Tax Compliance Analyst that will be responsible for supporting and supervising indirect tax compliance activities, as well as assisting with project implementation for Mexico.

Primary duties include:

• Execute the day to day activities regarding indirect taxes (VAT and IEPS)

• Prepare, analyze and supervise filing tax returns and reporting obligations

• Perform tax compliance activities to support the Global team responsible for accounting, corporate and intercompany transactions

• Work with tax technology and FinTech teams to come up with automated solutions to the compliance process and assist with implementation to reduce manual work

• Developing, implementing and documenting tax compliance process improvements

• Provide assistance attending authorities and government agencies on assessments, audits and any relevant issues

• Review financial data for proper application of tax laws and transfer pricing

• Follow up with tax law changes and implement new processes and strategies

• Help coordinating and reviewing activities of contractors

• Update, monitor and control metrics

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 8+ years of tax experience with exposure to tax compliance in a multinational corporation and/or a Big 4 public accounting firm.

  • 8+ years using Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Accounting degree.

  • Retail or technology industry sector

  • Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle).

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Able to extract, analyze, and review data.

  • Effective ability to manage across multiple geographies.

  • Experience working in a large complex multi-national organization with complex supply chains.

  • Experience working in a highly distributed technology environment.

  • Knowledge of at least one data-focused technology tool, such as Python, SQL, Alteryx, Amazon QuickSight, or similar is a plus.
