The Environmental Field Integration technician (EFIT) will support Mx program deployment by working closely with cross functional Mx Ops, Procurement, RME, Sustainability and Construction teams to deploy and improve existing processes and thinking big to develop scalable solutions to drive environmental compliance, process standardization, and performance management. This role will work with a team of Multi Site Environmental Managers to define and deliver against the program roll out implementation plan and strategy. The EFIT will drive shared goals with Mx Sustainability to improve on waste management KPIs; and with Finance and Procurement to identify savings opportunities and efficiencies from waste vendor contracts.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive EAP process improvements focusing on donations and waste, by working with EAP Programs teams to deploy initiatives in the country;

  • Identify 3P vendor KPIs to manage performance, data quality and cost of Waste vendors and work with Procurement to negotiate these in the vendor contracts;

  • Establish mechanisms to control 3P spent and performance, and align yearly targets with Finance and Sustainability;

  • Manage yearly budget allocation for EAP waste management and set targets for YoY optimization;

  • Create a framework to review waste disposal compliance, including operating permits, licenses and authorizations. Utilizing risk assessments and compliance evaluations, lead continuous improvement initiatives to minimize environmental aspects and impacts.

  • Build trust with Ops, Sustainability, and other key stakeholders by providing support in delivering Amazon compliance.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree

• English B2• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, Windows Operating Systems, and Environmental Management Systems

• Experience and ability to dive deep with engineering teams to understand operations process for environmental risk assessment

• Knowledge of Mexican state and federal environmental regulations

• 2 years of experience engaging with Regulatory Agency in permit application

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in civil, chemical or environmental engineering, or environmental science or related field of study.

• 3+ years of experience serving as an environmental technical resource or program specialist

• Broad knowledge of Mexican environmental regulations

• Experience in logistics is preferred

• Experience demonstrating a high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and achieve results

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics

• Excellent ownership

• Effective communicator, sending clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing.

• College Degree

• Excellent organizational and project management skills

• Experience in a fast paced, changing/growing organization

• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability

• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
