Job Description

Sr Development Job Description (Component Engineer/Passives)

A person involving with product development and operational support; supports marketing, designers, sourcing, process and manufacturing personnel to achieve a saleable commodity.

The Component Engineer will acquire, develop, maintain, and qualify all externally manufactured passive components used in the Skyworks modules.

This engineer will work with Irvine Component Engineering & Packaging development team on new passive components to meet established requirements and ensure new products are robust. They will maintain oversight and quality of existing packages for all product groups. They will define package requirements for product groups and customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordination of activities and logistics at between U.S. and Industry Passive Component suppliers & their manufacturing sites

  • Development, characterization, and qualifications new passive components technology

  • Analysis of data using statistical techniques and software such as JMP or Minitab

  • Failure analysis activities to assist in package development

Job Requirements:

  • Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Industrial or related Engineer degree BS, MS degree is desirable

  • 5-6 years minimum experience on electronic manufacturing processes, semiconductor manufacturing is preferred like: SMT, WLCSP-TNR, Die Attach, Wire Bond, Molding, Singulation, EMI Package Shielding or similar electronic assembly processes.

  • Strong bilingual (English/Spanish) communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work effectively with other product development team members.

  • Planning and Project Management skills required

  • Experience with suppliers development & qualification of raw materials and manufacturing supplies required

  • Experience in Statistical Analysis & Design of Experiments

  • Experience with Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis and Six Sigma or similar methodology.

  • Proficient in all MS Office related software (excel, Power Point, Word, etc.)

  • Knowledge of hardware and software used in the testing of semiconductor components is desired
