Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Become a trusted and influential business partner to commercial brand stakeholders, through providing analytical insights and recommendations on key business questions for a critical growth brand for AbbVie

  • Strengthen the organization’s understanding of marketplace performance and opportunities through tracking, modeling, and analysis of physician- and patient-level dynamics, while also considering competitive and economic factors

  • Conduct regular national and sub-national analysis and report key insights to stakeholders that include senior leadership, Marketing and Sales leadership.

  • Identify and address key business issues relative to product performance, ensuring that multiple stakeholder perspectives are considered, and synthesizing all available information relevant to the issue

  • Evaluate the impact & contribution of various promotional tactics [directed to physicians and also consumers] on new patient starts and total prescription volume

  • Guide development of marketing investment strategy to increase the effectiveness and/or efficiency of promotional activities [through marketing mix] and influence the deployment of specific promotional tactics through local optimization recommendations.

  • Inform the financial forecasting and brand planning processes through the application of patient flow models and scenario simulations

  • Utilize innovative, advanced modeling and analytic methods and produce results that fully leverage available data and analytics.

  • Meaningfully communicate insights and information to a broad group of stakeholders through exceptional oral and written communication

  • Analytic skills as defined by one or more of the following:

  • Statistics / Data Science: experienced practitioner of rigorous techniques, who can accurately interpret analysis / model results. Strong statistical or econometric backgrounds valued.

  • Programming: ability to define business rules and write query / codes to accurately pull and organize the right data

  • Visualization: adept at selecting appropriate visualizations to convey data, and comfortable creating polished PowerPoint presentations

  • Storytelling: ability to create a cohesive narrative that addresses the key business questions without sacrificing data integrity or losing the plot. Anticipate and address stakeholder needs / questions in credible ways.

  • Resourceful problem solver who can demystify complex information for others

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical / science / engineering field

  • 3-5 years’ experience in quantitative analysis of sales and marketing data and the use of this information in the development of business plans and strategies.

  • Working knowledge of multivariate statistics (incl. deriving causality from observational datasets), applied machine learning techniques, and business intelligence tools

  • Strong teamwork / communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with senior management, and multiple teams in a matrix organization.

  • Command of the following software programs: Microsoft Office suite [Excel, PowerPoint, Access], SQL. Experience with SAS / SPSS / PowerBI preferred

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing or in a closely related field of study with a concentration in marketing/sales/quantitative analysis

  • Experience analyzing pharmaceutical datasets (patient level, sub-national, and national)

  • Management consulting
