Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, large caliber ammunitions, and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.

Position Summary:

A successful Vice President of Operations will enhance systems and capabilities within each of the operational functions to execute the organization’s strategy and achieve results. This will include inspiring teams, driving improvement, and discipline to achieve results. The scope includes all Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain Personnel across multiple manufacturing plants within the site, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and Continuous Improvement.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Drive a culture of safety as an expectation and requirement to all systems and operations. Encourage and enforce a quality environment with focus on first time right delivery. Operate with urgency toward the customer and delivery focus.

• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Regulatory requirements in all facets of the operation.

• Responsible for schedule adherence. Closely monitors work in process to meet customer expectations. Provides leadership to all teams on importance of productivity and business plans.

• Responsible for reporting and performance of metrics related to efficiency, performance, quality, supply chain, and delivery.

• Support department leaders to ensure they have the proper direction for managing day-to-day operations.

• Inspire and serve the people you lead (unique to their specific needs).

• Consistently coach, encourage and support team members in their own personal and professional development objectives and goals.

• Drive a culture of ownership with focus on team performance, cross-functional collaboration, and integrated teams accountable to organizational needs.

• Communicate expectations clearly and often, follow-up regularly with feedback specific to individual’s performance and results.

• Positively influence the vision of an industry leading manufacturing site and defense provider.

• Leads Continuous Improvement initiatives within the organization that are required to meet production schedules and financial performance targets.

• Drive a culture of ownership with focus on team performance, cross-functional collaboration, and integrated teams accountable to organizational needs.

• Develop and manage budgets for multiple departments.

• Identify, propose, justify, and manage Capital Investment projects.

• Participate in learning and development initiatives, both personal and organizational.

• Acquire top talent through direct involvement in the interview, hiring, and on-boarding process.

• Lead by example and hold yourself accountable to living out the company’s mission, vision, and values.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Management, Engineering, or a related field.

• Background and training in Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement.

• Lean Six Sigma Certification is preferred.

• 10+ years of relevant experience in operations/manufacturing with preferred experience in energetic manufacturing.

• 5+ years leadership and management experience required including second level leadership.

• Ability to analyze data, review operational metrics, and make meaningful changes to improve operational performance.

• Ability to create strategic plans for multiple operations based on booked and forecasted work.

• Able to balance attention to detail with swift execution.

• Ability to track and manage numerous programs and projects simultaneously.

• Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to obtain BATF approval to work with NDS products.
