We are seeking an experienced, analytical and motivated Pharmacist Supervisor of Pharmacy Operations to lead a team of Pharmacists in the Mesa, AZ office. In this fast-paced role, you would manage Pharmacists to oversee and direct pharmacy set up of initial supplies and workflow processes. Position will ensure productivity of initial automation line testing and work to improve current processes. This is a brand new site for OptumRx! The ideal candidate will have the ability to work an 8-hour shift, during initial hours of operation, which are Monday - Friday between 6:30 AM - 5:30 PM, plus occasional additional hours as needed and flexibility.
You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location.
Supervises the daily activities and tasks of Pharmacists (full time/per diem) and Inventory employees (approximately 20-25 direct reports overall) related to fulfillment of prescription orders and pharmacy set-up operations
Monitors operations of business unit and actively assists and provides direction to subordinates as required using standard policies, procedures and guidelines
Prioritizes and coordinates work, provides leadership to and reviews the work of assigned staff
Provides guidance and collaboration with leadership team, including all site supervisors
Maintains and reviews most effective scheduling of staff to meet the needs and goals of business unit; assigns workload to staff to meet completion dates / deadlines
Works to optimize standardized procedures and improve efficiency of subordinates
Performs or assists subordinates in performing duties and resolving problems
Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates
Analyzes, researches and prepares various reports for management on assigned topics as needed
Interviews, hires new employees, ensures appropriate training, conducts performance reviews, counsels employees and takes appropriate disciplinary action
Supervising direct reports - pharmacists and technicians
Interprets physicians' prescriptions and creates order, accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer system
Work with peers / staff from other facilities to create, modify and ensure standardized procedures
Oversees, reviews and handles escalated issues
Oversight of home delivery staff and production

BS or Pharm D degree
Current, unrestricted Arizona Pharmacist License
Willing and able to obtain additional state licensure(s), if necessary
3+ years active pharmacist experience
1+ year experience leading, overseeing or supervising tasks / projects of pharmacy staff
Experience and ability to work with leadership, clinicians and able to develop effective working relationships with cross functional staff / departments
Solid understanding of state and federal laws regulations as they pertain to pharmacy
Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
Solid analytics and planning capabilities
Ability to work outside of regular scheduled hours in order to meet demands of work volume
Familiarity with some budgeting and reporting activities

Prior pharmacy automation experience
Solid collaboration, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work / present effectively across functions and with leadership levels
