Position Overview:\ We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Crew Lead to oversee the installation of HVAC systems, manage a team of installers, and ensure projects are completed on time and to code. The ideal candidate will have advanced technical knowledge in HVAC installation, ductwork, blueprint reading, and coordination with other trades. A strong leader with a positive influence, the Crew Lead will maintain jobsite standards, ensure quality work, and contribute to the growth of the business.

This role requires adherence to safety policies, punctuality maintaining a clean appearance, van and workplace.

Key responsibilities:

  • Utilize hand trucks or dollies for transporting equipment across different settings, consistently lift up to 50 pounds, and employ ladders and lifts with safety in mind.
  • Adhere to the company\'s safety guidelines and maintain a tidy and orderly job site each day.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, suggesting additional parts and accessories when appropriate.
  • Keep a professional demeanor and have all the necessary tools for all HVAC tasks at hand.
  • Record detailed service logs and ensure precise documentation of all repairs, installations, and inspections.
  • Engage in clear communication with customers, offering straightforward explanations of problems, proposed solutions, and estimated costs.
  • Work in concert with fellow technicians and team members to complete projects promptly and provide services of the highest quality.
  • Perform regular maintenance and preventative assessments on HVAC systems to guarantee peak performance and energy efficiency.
  • Identify, fix, and substitute standard HVAC parts, such as capacitors, contactors, fan motors, and other electrical components.
  • Comprehend refrigeration theory, conduct tests on compressors, valves, superheat, subcooling, and master brazing, system evacuation, leak detection, and pipe joining techniques.
  • Resolve intricate technical problems, precisely evaluate system issues, and implement effective resolutions.
  • Consult technical literature, interpret electrical schematics, cooperate with technical support, and stay up-to-date with new industry practices.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of installing all types of HVAC systems.
  • It is essential to demonstrate advanced installation skills in piping, controls, ventilation, and ductwork.
  • Troubleshoot common install mistakes
  • Understand HVAC codes, blueprints, and the scope of work for HVAC and related trades.
  • Coordinate with general contractors and other trades to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems.
  • Lead, manage, and support a team of installers, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Perform HVAC system startups, basic troubleshooting, and manage jobsite tasks and punch lists.
  • Respond to rare and unlikely urgent requests, inspections, and errands outside normal work hours.
  • Adhere to UMC and IMC codes, with a basic working knowledge of framing, plumbing, and electrical and other necessary trades.
  • Recruit and mentor new employees, contributing to the companys growth.
  • A comprehensive grasp of duct designs, Manual J, S, and D, ACCA standards, and SMACNA guidelines is essential.
