A.T. Still University ASHS - Adjunct Instructor of Human Anatomy in Mesa, Arizona

Description

A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) invites applications for non-exempt adjunct faculty of human anatomy. Adjunct anatomy lab teaching assistants will work under the supervision of the director and lab coordinator and in coordination with all faculty who use the anatomy labs. The individual in this position may assist in one or more of the following: 1) facilitation of student small groups in the gross anatomy lab during open study hours, 2) dissection of cadavers, 3) set up/take down of anatomy labs, 4) assist faculty in facilitating anatomy lab classes, 5) grading student lab assignments in the learning management system.

This position is paid hourly and estimated 4-8 hours/week. The hours are flexible based on assigned tasks. The pay rate is $23 per hour.

Requirements:

In-depth knowledge of human anatomy; experience working in a gross anatomy lab performing dissection; must be competent in computer skills to work in Microsoft suite, Google suite, and learning management system (Canvas); must supply own computer and internet services; Preferred: clinical experience in a health profession for at least 2 years.

  • High level of critical thinking and discernment on written material (assessments)

  • Computer skills on following software: Microsoft suite, Google suite, Learning management system (Canvas)

  • Communication (verbal and written) ability to interact with graduate health professions faculty and students about clinical aspects of gross anatomy

  • Ability to interact with various stakeholders in a professional, culturally sensitive manner to support an optimal learning environment.
