Insight Global Mechanical Manufacturing Design Manager in Merritt Island, Florida

Job Description

An employer in the Titusville, FL market is looking for a Mechanical Architect to join their team. This person will be responsible for building out the processes of how the satellites will be put together -- both the flight and non-flight (the manufacturing equipment, etc.) side. Maintainting the configuration. And instructions of how the satellite needs to be put together. Engineering team will design the satllite but this person is desiging how the satellite needs to be built and manufactured. Also re-designing what the design teams have done if needed based on customer requests.

* Lead the mechanical manufacturing engineering team, establishing clear objectives and guiding the team towards innovative solutions in MGSE and aerospace structural design.

* Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, satellite configurations, and specific requirements for MGSE and aerospace structures.

* Coordinate with Quality, Configuration Management, Industrial Management, Production, and Design Engineering teams to implement design and process changes effectively.

* Manage and support mechanical operations, focusing on advanced problem-solving and anomaly resolution in the FAL and related areas.

* Maintenance support organization with design engineering org merged together

Skills and Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline, with a strong preference for candidates with advanced degrees

* Around 5+ years of experience in manufacturing (automotive, satellite or aerospace industry) & design engineering

* 8+ years of expeirence with design of structures, satellites, etc.

* Automation manfucaturing experience

* Solidworks experience

* SAP experience

* Jira experience

* Experience in an environment manufacturing around 20-50 widgets a year

* Someone who is passionate, pride and drive (even if no experience in this industry before)

* Growth mindset -- willing to learn because there's 6-9 months of knowledge transfer * Master's degree in related field

* Satellite or aerospace manufacturing experience

* VDS and SMG files for 3D modeling file experience null
