Job Description: As a Cook at Rib Shack, you will be an integral part of our kitchen team, responsible for preparing and cooking our signature dishes with precision and consistency. You will work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure that all meals are prepared according to our recipes and standards, while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of barbecue dishes, including ribs, chicken, brisket, and sides, according to Rib Shack's recipes and specifications.
  • Grill, smoke, and barbecue meats to perfection, ensuring proper cooking times and temperatures are followed.
  • Assist with food preparation tasks, such as cutting, marinating, and seasoning meats, as well as chopping vegetables and preparing sauces.
  • Monitor food inventory levels and communicate with the Head Chef or Manager to ensure timely ordering and restocking of ingredients.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment by adhering to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper storage, handling, and disposal of food.
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to coordinate food preparation and ensure efficient workflow during peak hours.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the kitchen.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cook in a fast-paced restaurant or food service establishment, preferably with experience in barbecue or southern cuisine.
  • Solid understanding of cooking techniques, including grilling, smoking, and barbecue methods.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, with a focus on maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
