Quality Control Inspector

Inspects purchased or manufactured parts, materials, and subassemblies used to make medical devices or their subassemblies. Detects defective or nonconforming components.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Uses written instructions, engineering drawings, measuring instruments and/or test equipment to determine whether parts/materials meet the established dimensional specifications or possess specific required attributes.
  • Performs all required tests and inspections in compliance with the applicable written procedures, and accurately records the data.
  • Accurately tags materials to indicate quality inspection status.
  • Monitors, on a daily basis, the calibration status of tools and equipment used.
  • With experience, assists in the resolution of technical problems.
  • Works at a reasonable pace with minimal direct supervision.
  • Capable of performing as Quality Auditor, as described by current job description.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical school, collage coursework, or related work experience is desirable.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as procedures, safety rules, operating instructions, engineering drawings, and forms.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in various units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to enter data into spreadsheets or data bases, and to record calculated values accurately.
