Equipment will include but is not limited to lathes, grinders, mills, and EDM. The technician must be familiar with GD&T and product drawings such that a part may be machined directly from the product drawing with little direct supervision. The technician must also be familiar with gauging and fixture design and be able to recommend appropriate inspection and assembly techniques for newly developed products. Good interpersonal skills are required and the technician must be able to communicate well to team leaders, and peers. The technician must able be able to perform assembly and test duties as well. With limited direct supervision, set-up and operate conventional and CNC machines such as vertical and horizontal mill, and lathes. Working knowledge of CAM software with the ability to program offline using "G" code programming Proficient using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and comparators Read and understand product and process drawings procedures and quality requirements Read, interpret, and understand assembly drawings, procedures and instructions Familiar with TIG welding Familiarity with EDM setup and operation Familiarity with GD&T per ASMEY14.5-1994 Familiarity with Microsoft Office and PC's Demonstrate a working knowledge of materials Perform a variety of approved assembly techniques. Operate required test equipment and verify the calibration of such equipment. Conduct test audits. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tooling as required and directed. Make necessary adjustments to correct irregular and/or non-confirming assemblies. Works closely with supervision and other team members to ensure that production requirements are met; appropriate tooling and hardware is available; machine maintenance and tool availability and assist with workflow schedules. Assist and/or instruct others in daily activities as needed. Maintain appropriate knowledge and ability levels to efficiently perform all assigned work and utilize this knowledge base to become proficient on new/unfamiliar assignments. Maintain a satisfactory level of performance while following appropriate procedures and observing all pertinent safety rules and requirements. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of ten (10) years machining and/or assembly experience. Ability to read, write and understand instructions, procedures, and drawings. Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills and be willing to work effectively as a participative team member. Must demonstrate manual dexterity and a willingness to learn.
