Kohl's Manager of Marketing Technology - Strategy & Enablement (Content Technologies) *REMOTE* in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin

Lead the successful definition, design, planning, implementation, execution and measurement of marketing technology initiatives leveraging knowledge of latest trends to deliver a best in class personalized marketing experience. This role is a key liaison between Marketing and Technology for MarTech projects and initiatives, translating desired outcomes and requirements into achievable deliverables. This role is responsible for cross-team alignment, project management, definition of business and technology capabilities, and business process design/improvement that drives operational efficiencies and advances marketing capabilities for the organization. This role plays a key role in driving our marketing vision by building out a best in class MarTech ecosystem, serving as a change agent and expert in the space.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

DEFINE AND IMPLEMENT MARKETING TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS

  • Partner with the Business and Technology to build out a best in class MarTech ecosystem that supports the current and future needs of delivering relevant, targeted, and dynamic marketing to our customers

  • Evaluate business needs & create business cases including applicable expense reduction, sales benefits and ROI estimates

  • Evaluate existing tools and technologies and recommend improvements in partnership with IT that will enable marketing to continue to scale with a focus on agility, speed and efficiency

  • Lead the identification, definition, and implementation of technology solutions into the marketing business areas. Prioritize and roadmap workstreams.

  • Lead cross-functional change management with marketing stakeholders; create program goals and metrics around change success, including adoption and change proof point, to demonstrate value.

  • Evangelize communications to drive awareness of how change supports both integrated marketing goals and team-oriented responsibilities

  • Engage and recommend insights through research on competitive landscape and emerging trends

CONTENT MANAGEMENT

  • Partner with the marketing stakeholders and technology partners to build out a best in class MarTech ecosystem that supports the current and future needs of delivering relevant, targeted, and dynamic marketing to our customers

  • Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to understand and improve upon existing content capabilities, processes, and systems; create corresponding plans for managing change with stakeholders

  • Be an expert in various content industries, including content operations, content management, and structured content

  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure content model is created purposefully and efficiently and evolves in support of business needs

  • Stay current on the latest trends, best practices and innovations in marketing technology and content technologies

CONTENT PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

  • Partner with stakeholders to define process approach and recommend standards for the teams to drive innovation, operational efficiency, and achieve best in class personalization; drive governance policies and standards in tandem

  • Partner with Operations on process implementation through communication protocols and change management

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Lead multiple projects and deadlines with internal and external partners

  • Partner with marketing stakeholders and technology partners to drive requirements and prioritization across multiple marketing teams and cross functional work streams to deliver successful business outcomes

  • Lead business rollout strategies and timelines including determining process changes, evaluating training needs and aligning cross-marketing teams for successful adoptions of new technology solutions

  • Drive priorities and tradeoffs for core business decisions

COMMUNICATION, CHANGE MANAGEMENT AND BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS

  • Foster productive, collaborative relationships with cross-functional internal and external teams

  • Manage cross-functional communication to keep leaders informed, articulate issues and risks to move decisions forward

  • Influence partners to drive cross-functional alignment and adoption of new technology, process and standards

  • Communicate complex information simply and utilize proactive communication to mitigate risk

  • Create training and communication materials

  • Lead change management and solution oriented discussions

TEAM LEADERSHIP

  • Create an effective work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance and maintaining open communications.

  • Develop staff through coaching, providing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments and establishing performance and development plans.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience

  • 3-5 years of hands on experience leading MarTech initiatives, process improvement and managing projects with a demonstrated history of increasing responsibility

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

  • Ability to lead a team and interact effectively with others

  • Experience with Marketing technology platforms/vendors

  • Self starter with the ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work for self and team

  • Understanding of data and analytics with the ability to design technology solutions that provide actionable insights and campaigns

  • Experience integrating marketing applications with enterprise applications

  • Business Process Management methodologies and tools

  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies and tools

PREFERRED

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools

  • Lean & Certifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in MIS, engineering, business or a related field, particularly in the marketing technology space

  • Experience in marketing, marketing workflows, business process design, and behavioral marketing
