A DAY IN THE LIFE AS CUSTOM FABRICATION ESTIMATOR

As a Custom Fabrication Estimator, you will be responsible for providing accurate pricing, routing and materials from customer supplied blueprints. This position works closely with various departments involved with the manufacturing process of the quoted product. This is a fast-paced position that requires a balance of strong technical skills as well as great communication and ability to multitask.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
  • Identifies labor, material, and outsourcing requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
  • Calculate set-ups and run times based off customer specification
  • Quickly generate accurate estimates of time and costs to build component parts and fabrications
  • Quotes that are won will be prepared for the manufacturing departments
  • Creation of supplemental CAD Drawings needed for manufacturing
  • Verify job routings, and materials at time of purchase order
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Proficient in CAD
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Fabrication, machining, and welding knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Job Boss software experience a plus
  • Minimum three years of experience providing estimates in a fabrication environment

Job Type: Full-time
