Summary:

The Meta Security team is responsible for improving the security posture of the software and services used throughout our company. Our work spans Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, and all of the underlying systems and infrastructure that power these products behind the scenes.Due to the scale and complexity of our environment, we develop our own bespoke security tools and systems. We strive to go beyond just identifying security vulnerabilities and flaws by helping teams fix issues before they are live in production and automatically preventing security problems during the development process.We are seeking a passionate and experienced security engineer to help us build systems which grow the security maturity of the software and services underpinning everything Meta makes today and in the future.Join us, and help keep our billions of users safe!

Required Skills:

Security Engineer, Infrastructure Responsibilities:

  1. Write code and conduct code reviews in: Python, PHP, Java, Ruby, Go, Rust, C/C++ (or similar language)

  2. Influence and align the organization’s vision and strategy, while engaging our teams to develop and deliver specific, multi-year roadmaps, programs, and projects

  3. ensure prioritization, resourcing, and timely delivery of this work within a changing business environment

  4. Conceive, design & develop industry-leading security products, systems and/or frameworks

  5. analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of existing security systems and frameworks

  6. Identify and prioritize areas of improvement to the security maturity across Meta

  7. improve the security maturity at scale by directly designing, implementing, and building solutions

  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security maturity work is being prioritized and addressed

  9. Eliminate classes of security problems by shifting the detection and preventions left into the development workflow

  10. provide architectural, design, and threat-based guidance to software development teams to improve the security maturity before code is written

  11. Establish yourself as an owner of a particular security system with expert end-to-end understanding

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. B.S. or M.S. Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience

  2. 8+ years work experience building and securing enterprise-scale infrastructure software and services

  3. 8+ years work experience writing code in Python, PHP, Java, Ruby, Go, Rust, C/C++ (or similar language)

  4. Experience fixing infrastructure security problems across broad corporate boundaries using influence and relationships

  5. Experience in designing, analyzing, improving efficiency, scalability, and stability distributed systems and conducting threat model assessment of infrastructure software and services

  6. Experience owning a particular component, feature or system

  7. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

  2. Broad knowledge of the security domain, which might include security investigations, incident management, digital forensics, offensive security, vulnerability management, product security, and much more

$177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
