Required Skills:

CAD Specialist Responsibilities:

  1. Administer, configure, and customize CAD programs for engineers.

  2. Develop and expand the capabilities of mechanical design tools and solutions our engineers depend upon to create breakthrough consumer hardware and software products.

  3. Use NX in consumer electronics or related field and understand how mechanical and product design engineers work to create effective mechanical design product development processes.

  4. Develop mechanical design tools, customizations, and processes that improve efficiency.

  5. Provide user support and assist engineers in the implementation of best mechanical design practices.

  6. Advise mechanical engineering and design teams on model architecture and setup.

  7. Recommend collaboration strategies for teams at different development phases that impact mechanical design of products and hardware.

  8. Lead the development and customization of new mechanical design tools/processes.

  9. Create mechanical design engineering training materials, test scripts, documentation, NX seed files, and templates for mechanical tool designs.

  10. Train mechanical and product design engineers throughout the organization on best practices and utilization of specific mechanical design tools or modules such as PCB exchange, sheet metal, drafting, etc.

  11. Provide input on application enhancements and upgrade roadmap.

  12. Maintain and grow mechanical part libraries.

  13. Telecommute from anywhere in the US permitted.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics or related field followed by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or computer-related occupation.

  2. Experience must include 5 years of experience in the following:

    1. Siemens NX, at Revision 11 or above, in consumer electronics
    1. Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Domain using industry leading applications such as Teamcenter, Windchill or ENOVIA in an administrative role
    1. Performing Mechanical Drafting and creating 2D Drawings
    1. Application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to ASME Y14.5 Standard
    1. Siemens NX PCB Exchange for integrating electronic circuit boards into NX Mechanical Designs
    1. Creating training materials, documentation, NX seed files, and templates
    1. Working with geographically distributed teams in a collaborative support role
    1. Providing user support to mechanical and product design engineers.

Public Compensation:

$193,338/year to $231,110/year + bonus + equity + benefits
