Baptist Memorial Specialist-Product Support RN - HS Supply Chain Operations Corporate in Memphis, Tennessee

Summary

The Clinical Product Specialist provides support for product standardization, utilization and expense management at the system and facility level. This individual also manages and tracks new product introductions to ensure expected results, both clinical and financial, are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates assessment of requests and triages utilizing supply chain resources and nursing/clinical knowledge to assemble relevant information including financial analysis, benchmarking, contracts, competitive products, evidence, and other pertinent data to support committee decision-making.

  • Coordinates the trial/evaluation process to assure proper use of products, use of appropriate evaluation criteria, documentation of feedback and that the right stakeholders are involved.

  • Collaborates with clinical experts and procurement contract managers in developing and completing the clinical and financial components of supply initiatives for the Service Line meetings.

  • Manages the implementation/conversion of approved products/services through collaboration with supply chain, educational resources, suppliers and specific user groups, as needed.

  • Effectively manages and provides value analysis information by maintaining a detailed cost savings tracking system.

  • Interacts with direct patient care staff to ensure appropriate feedback is received before product decisions are made (e.g., physicians, nurses, radiology technologists, medical technologists, and other ancillary staff).

  • Collects, analyzes, and communicates information related to product conversions, financial performance, and product standardization.

  • Completes assigned goals.

Requirements, Preferences and Experience

Experience

Preferred: Microsoft Access

Minimum: 1 year RN experience required. Experience with supply chain operations, cost-benefit analysis, and project management; Knowledge of nursing policies and procedures. Experience in cost containment and expense management activities. Computer competency ? Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.

Licensure, Registration, Certification

Minimum: RN

Special Skills

Minimum: Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to drive consensus in a decentralized environment. Strong presentation skills; ability to give oral presentations to physicians and clinicians, senior administration and peer groups. Understands inter-workings of all supply-chain management activities and provides direct implementation supervision of contracts clinically sensitive in nature. Must possess and develop strong analytical skills to perform ?what if? analysis and address the numerous issues and scenarios involved in proposed programs and processes. Information must be gathered, researched, analyzed and presented in an objective, non-biased ?third party? manner.
