AutoZone, Inc. Senior Financial Analyst in Memphis, Tennessee

SUMMARY:

Plans, develops, analyzes and implements programs related to assigned area. Uses analytical methods to report to management trends affecting AutoZone operations. Strong knowledge of AutoZone systems, policies and procedures. Proven skills with software packages used at AutoZone (Excel, Access, FoxPro, etc.). Performs other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with key decision makers in functional areas to assist in the development of their strategic plans, operating plans and performance measurement processes.

  • Develop financial analysis related to potential acquisitions. This includes developing financial projections and assessing financial risk associated with a potential purchase.

  • Write presentations of findings related the acquisition analysis.

  • Write management and board presentation materials related to the business planning process.

  • Assure alignment among functional areas.

  • Lead special projects as identified by the VP of Strategic Planning and Business Development. Examples include cost reduction initiatives (ie. Project Flat), creation of new processes and systems (ie. Approval request system), analyzing new business opportunities (ie. new venture projects), etc.

  • Support finance development efforts including development of appropriate financial policies, financial models, training programs, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.

  • Three to five years experience in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Financial Systems

  • CPA or extensive progress

  • Public accounting experience
