Nike Lead, Nike Logistics System in Memphis, Tennessee

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

This role is part of our Supply Chain Operations (SCO) function focused on driving benefits of scale and promoting a common strategic approach. The Nike Logistics System (NLS) team serves the operations teams across the geographies with a standard, market driven Operating System focused on three pillars.

Design: Creation of standard logistics templates on the intersection of processes and people, the infrastructure and automation that they function within, and the tech products they work with. Run & Improve the Business: Through coaching and development, cultivate a culture of continuous improvement to empower Logistics teams to enact problem solving at the lowest possible level. Sustained through Operating Systems (OS) Thinking: Adopted and applied by our Logistics Leaders from strategy deployment to practical problem solving.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The candidate for this role needs to able to coach and lead others, including those that do not directly report to them, by clearly communicating vision and purpose to drive a deep understanding of Nike Logistics Systems. This role will require multi-faceted support of Distribution Operations through the continuous improvement journey, from workshop facilitation to daily metrics gathering to job aid creation, all toward the goal of helping our Nike Athletes reach their peak performance.

  • Open to work in the Memphis, TN metro area

  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Program Management, and/or Lean/Agile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience / education.

  • Proficiency of Lean and continuous improvement principles, with knowledge of the Toyota Production System as a plus.

  • Travel can range from minimal up to 20% dependent on work required and Distribution Center(s) supported.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

The Lead, Nike Logistics System is a key partner to Distribution Operations, coaching Athletes on the floor toward peak performance as well as planning future improvements to Distribution Center processes, systems, & material handling equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support formulation of the NLS strategy for logistics, cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, and coach functional business partners on our operating system.

  • Sharp focus on connecting dots end to end in logistics and beyond our supply chain.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and coach for NLS principles, tools, and techniques to drive a culture of operational excellence within the supply chain team.

  • Pinpoint improvement areas and set priorities by offering data-driven analyses on distribution center performance and processes.

  • Utilize root cause analysis and lean process design principles to identify and eliminate waste and non-value-added activities across logistics.

  • Cross functional collaboration in the wider SCO NLS community across geographies to benchmark, teach others, and learn from others.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders at various levels to drive alignment, foster collaboration, and ensure integrated execution of initiatives.

  • Establish and maintain standards based on industry best practices to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

  • Document, standardize, and enhance NLS tools and processes to ensure consistent application and effectiveness across the supply chain.

  • Internally assess prioritized work, align teams around measurable KPIs, and clearly scope initiatives the Nike Logistics System (NLS) team will deploy to support.

  • Independently assess progress, hold teams accountable to agreed up measurable KPIs, and professionally escalate where help is needed.

  • Validate initiatives post-implementation and build out communication feedback loop to senior leadership.
