AutoZone, Inc. Environmental Manager in Memphis, Tennessee

Develop and continuously update environmental policies, procedures, and training modules. Ensure that AutoZone’s Environmental Policy is followed in the stores and Distribution Centers. Support various functional area teams with environmental compliance issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and continuously update corporate environmental policies, procedures and training modules

• Environmental subject matter expert to support various functional area teams with environmental matters

• Track and respond promptly to regulatory Notices of Violations and inspector questions

• Administer national Used Oil Recycling and Hazardous Waste Bucket programs

• Working knowledge of Lithium Battery Compliance Shipping Rules

• Manage Emergency Response cleanup events

• Review and summarize complex environmental reports for understanding by non-technical associates

• Administer vendor contracts, review and approve vendor invoices

• Coordinate timely submittals of regulatory required environmental reports

• Assist with facility permitting

• Hazardous waste management

• Identify new ways to save the company money

• Research local state and federal regulations and provide compliance recommendations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has three direct reports.

Education and/or Experience

• BS degree

• 5+ years environmental compliance/consulting, safety, project management experience

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

PE, PG, CSP preferred
