Overview

Job Title: Senior Production Planner

Job Location: Melville, NY

Salary: $100,000-$115,000/yr

Responsible for the schedule and coordination of materials between departments and for providing accurate documentation on the location and progress of materials.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and determines the most efficient method of achieving program objectives within the framework of technical capabilities.

  • Create manufacturing order schedule and purchase requisitions for assigned projects using MRP.

  • Track and monitor purchased material for assigned projects.

  • Identify critical parts and critical path assemblies to the scheduled delivery dates.

  • Execute plan and control programs through manufacturing and test to ensure timely delivery of equipment to customer.

  • Coordinate and expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments.

  • Perform complex expediting and record keeping functions with current information on the location and progress of manufactured parts and assemblies.

  • Release kits to production floor with proper travelers, operation sheets and documentation.

  • Host meetings on status of programs regarding schedule with PM, Production, Test, and Quality.

  • Report and resolve any problems or difficulties impacting the on-time delivery of jobs.

  • Arrange in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules.

  • Compile and maintain manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in process production reports and status and location of materials.

  • Move or transport material from one department to another.

  • Expedite material to assure delivery and availability of material by due date.

  • Follow processing of internal work orders to assure that items and assemblies will be completed on schedule.

  • Process ECN’s so that WIP is at current revisions.

  • Maintain a positive work environment by professional and courteous conduct and communications with others, including supervisors, co-workers, clients, and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred or equivalent work experience

  • 7+ years’ experience in Planning or Production Control in an electronics or electro-mechanical manufacturing plant required.

  • RF experience required

  • 7+ years ERP/MRP experience

  • Strong knowledge of work schedules, bill of material and receiving reports

  • Familiar with tool, equipment and nomenclature of parts and components used in electro-mechanical manufacturing

  • Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

  • Microsoft Office proficiency
