This engineer will be responsible for the design, development and testing of all aspects of mechanical components, systems and equipment, including new and existing products. Responsibilities Develop and design mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from operators Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods, testing properties Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs, applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components Assure system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests Maintain product and company reputation by complying with corporate, industry and government regulations Maintain system and product data base by writing computer programs and entering data Complete projects by training and guiding technicians Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies Additional duties as assigned Qualifications Creative with strong problem-solving skills and solutions oriented Ability to design and develop products using DFMEA Self-starter with the ability to time manage and prioritize tasks and projects simultaneously Understanding of consumer products and ability to maintain a high level of product knowledge Good communicator; able to convey information straightforward being concise yet thorough Ability to work in a team environment and independently Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical design.
