Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Over 5 years of experience in comparable role.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Scrum master certification, evidencing a foundation in Agile methodologies.
  • Understanding and hands-on experience with software development processes.
  • Expertise in Scrum practices and artifacts, including but not limited to the definition of done, user stories, automated testing strategies, and backlog refinement techniques.
  • Knowledge of various Agile frameworks (e.g., Crystal, Extreme Programming (XP)) and their applications in dynamic project environments.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, complemented by proven servant leadership qualities, facilitating team collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, ensuring smooth project progression and team dynamics.
  • Developed organizational skills, enabling management of multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience in full-stack development, with experience in SQL, REST Services, C# .NET Core, Bootstrap, Vue.js, and deployment on Microsoft Azure platforms.

Physical Demands

Job Summary

The scrum master's responsibilities include ensuring development teams follow scrum framework standards and agile practices, mentoring and motivating teams to improve processes, facilitating meetings and decision-making processes, and eliminating obstacles that hinder the teams' progress.

The successful scrum master should have a grasp of agile practices, guide and coach development teams. Additionally, the SM should possess interpersonal and problem-solving skills. The SM will help create self-organizing teams that are flexible and fully productive during sprints.

Role and Responsibilities

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position. All employees will adhere to and be knowledgeable of Orion180 operations standards, established security/safety rules, and requirements for attendance. The requirements listed below are representative of the fundamental knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the job successfully:

  • Manage each project's scope and timeline.
  • Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings, and daily stand-ups.
  • Coach team members in Agile frameworks.
  • Facilitate internal communication and collaboration.
  • Work with product owners to manage backlogs and new requests.
  • Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that occur.
  • Help teams implement changes.
  • Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint.
  • Guide development teams to higher scrum maturity.
  • Help build a productive environment where team members own' the product and enjoy working on it.

Work Environment

The office environment is quiet and, in a temperature, controlled setting with random adjustments in noise or temperature due to conversations, unscheduled maintenance repairs to the building or its interior offices, or unpredictable situations due to weather or other acts beyond company control. An employee must be willing to work their regularly assigned work schedule for their duties and/or job responsibilities and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on the company/department needs, project requirements, or customer demands.
