Model-Based-Systems Engineer (MBSE)

Novel Engineering is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of  a Junior Model Based Systems Engineer in Melbourne, FL. The Model Based Systems Engineer provides oversight and support to multiple Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) projects, leads development teams responsible for using MBSE tools and techniques to support requirements development, system design, and the development of use cases for selected systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  •   Participates in the development of system integration plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of software and hardware system integration testing and performs analysis of integration results to assess system impacts.

  • Utilizes MBSE tools and techniques to support requirements development, system design, and the development of use cases for selected systems.

  • Develops and maintains models using modeling languages such as Unified Modeling Language (UML), Systems Modeling Language (SysML), Unified Profile for DoDAF/MODAF (UPDM), and Integration DEFinition (IDEF).

  • Develops system models and creates representations using data architectures and data models to facilitate interoperability.

  • Utilizes strong written, communication, and presentation skills, and works effectively in a team environment.

  • Reviews system engineering documentation to ensure specifications meet system needs accurately;

  • Participates in the development of trade studies to support the selection of preferred design solutions and course of action alternatives in project development/product delivery.

  • Participates in project/program technical risk analysis and mitigation.

  • Analyzes and evaluates systems using MBSE artifacts.

  • Participates in system requirements reviews and creates/updates requirements specifications and technical documentation.

  • Utilizes strong written, communication, and presentation skills, and works effectively in a team environment.

    EDUCATION:

  • Education:  Bachelor's degree in engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited college is required.

  • Two (2) to Five (5) years' experience in a related field is required in MBSE.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with various model-based system engineering tools - Rhapsody, Cameo Magic Draw, is required.

  • Experience with Modular and Open Systems Approach (MOSA) Standards required.

  • Understanding of system interface requirements and interface management is required.

  • US citizen required, work is fully remote, no security clearance needed.

    CERTIFICATION:

  • MBSE methodologies or tools a plus.
