Working closely & collaboratively with a high performing, engaged R&D team, this position will drive excitement! You will organise and execute projects in line with RDQ, marketing and manufacturing requirements. In this role, you will plan and conduct process development activities and help with planning and the effective use of resources, including the use of external agencies.

The role will require your skills in analysis and interpretation of results that will lead to conclusions and recommendations; create and maintain accurate packaging specifications; and create intellectual property to drive our competitive advantage.

How you will contribute

  • Supporting packaging specifications and key in specification system for Gourmet Foods business

  • Develop E2E packaging initiatives for ANZ BU and located in Australia

  • Working closely with R&D other teams, Marketing, Supply Chain, Procurement and suppliers to help feeding the packaging funnel, considering new technologies available, new material market trends and packaging sustainability

  • Lead implementation of packaging projects, working closely with cross-functional partners (i.e. BD/operations, procurement, RDQ category team, logistic, QA and marketing) as well as external packaging material vendors

  • Manage the technical timeline, providing timely communication, outlining issues, risks and contingency plans for AMEA Biscuit packaging programs

  • Conduct, coordinate functional testing including plant trials, lab testing, transportation tests, shelf life studies and material vendor evaluations, including analysis of data, results and follow up recommendations and action plans.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise throughout the deployment of projects.

  • Ensure all Packaging Quality expectations are delivered within the programs.

What you will bring

A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Packaging Development Technology or related field.

  • Minimum 3 years industry packaging development experience in FMCG Sector

  • Pack integration experience and specification related experience will be an advantage.

  • Must have technical curiosity and an eye for detail.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Rich experience in flexible films and paper cartons

  • Experience and understanding in GMP and HACCP, ISO and project management.

  • Basic knowledge in technical, regulatory, legal and financial affairs

There is significant investment in innovation with our local manufacturing sites. The ability to be creative, and work on end to end NPD projects is an attractive part of our R&D roles.

Work schedule:

This is a hybrid role with working 3 days from office in Dandenong South and 2 days from home.

This is 1-year fixed term contract with Mondelez International.
