About our Role

An exciting and unique opportunity currently exists for an energetic, dynamic and experienced sales professional to join our Coles customer team as National Business Manager, leading the Pantry business. This highly commercial and engaging leadership role requires the successful incumbent to apply a combination of strategic and commercial business acumen, developing a robust and thorough commercial plan. In this role you will manage the full Pantry P&L and deliverables with direct responsibility managing our total pantry portfolio engagement with Coles. In this position you will champion the customer and our strategic relations, influencing and accelerating business growth.

What will you do

  • Develop and accelerate the Total Pantry Growth strategy, defining where to play and how to execute in alignment with the customer.

  • Lead both internally and externally the creation and implementation of three year strategic joint business plans, ensuring profitable long term growth and market share acceleration.

  • Support the National Account Managers to deliver against key metrics on Sauces/Meal Bases, Shelf Seafood and Shelf Vegetables.

  • Primary customer contact with Business Category Manager Level and indirect support of relationships with Category Managers.

  • Provide recommendations and changes to improve sales profitability, meeting customers’ requirements, within the specific timeframe and budget.

  • Develop an influential relationship with Customers whilst championing the voice of customer across the business.

  • Continuously review and optimise trade spend investment – Utilising OTSI. Implement optimised promotional plan which delivers the best ROI possible.

  • Drive growth through effective analysis of insights.

  • Develop, lead and mentor a dynamic team of National Account Manager’s.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be a strong negotiator with demonstrated sales management experience within FMCG. You will be highly skilled in communicating across all levels of business and have a proven track record in delivering business performance against your strategic plan. Alongside this you will have highly developed communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate, you will be experienced working within a cross functional environment and liaising with a range of stakeholders.

  • You will have demonstrated experience in a similar senior leadership role within FMCG sales.

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams with previous exposure driving a strategic business plan.

  • Significant leadership skills, mentoring, coaching and developing teams.

  • Proven success to accelerating business growth and performance.

  • Strong commercial acumen, reporting and presentation skills.

  • Goal oriented and solutions driven.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and with the ability to positively adapt to change.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive mutual profitable growth through collaborative category strategies with customers

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and decision making skills.

  • Passionate about developing others and fostering a balanced achievement and people centric culture.
