About the Role

The Australia IT team is seeking an individual to provide application support for both the Australian and Asian Wealth Management platforms.

The focus will be supporting applications of business units covering Australian Stock Exchange Trading, Clearing and Settlement of both Options and Equities, Treasury, Cash Management, Account Management, portfolio management, internal and external client reporting, and software interfaces with multiple vendors. The role supports business units in both Australia and Asia from the Melbourne office located in the CBD.

Additionally serving as a point of contact for service function in scope, maintaining oversight on IT operations, status updates, escalations, and functional updates.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for addressing production environment issues and requests for an end-to-end Wealth Management platform for the Australian domestic market and PWM Asia.
  • Working closely with engineering/development teams to design, build, maintain, and deploy application software.
  • Troubleshoot issues across the entire technology stack: hardware, software, application, and network.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for the company; scope and create automation for deployment, management, and visibility of our services.
  • Proactively identifying and addressing system reliability risks.
  • Work with global and regional team members.
  • Represent the RPE organization in design reviews and operational readiness exercises for new and existing services.
  • Responsible for performing and taking ownership of activities, where appropriate, under: o Incident Management (S1-S4 & S5) o Service Request Fulfillment (User Raised Requests & Issues) o Problem Management o Release, Deployment, and Change Management
  • Coordinate and facilitate the escalation of any issues with the business.
  • Problem-solve business application support issues to ensure business continuity.
  • Create and maintain documentation of application support procedures.
  • On-call support and remediation of end of day batch processing
  • Automation of recurring support procedures with Shell scripts and TestComplete
  • Writing, reviewing, and verifying SQL data extracts for the business
  • Outage management communication and execute technical failover plans.
  • Liaising with external 3rd party vendors to manage and resolve external incidents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering
  • Relevant experience in a L2 support role in financial services
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills

Preferably experience or knowledge of some or all of the following:

  • Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
  • Linux and Shell Scripting
  • Autosys
  • FIX Protocol experience
  • Twiki

Vendor Products:

  • IRESS Market Data and Trading applications
  • ServiceNow
  • OpenText Documentum and Brava
  • GBST DCA (Derivatives Clearing and Accounting)
  • TestComplete automation scripting
  • ASX (Australian Stock Exchange) interfaces for both trading and clearing settlement
