Ford Motor Company IT Support Officer in Melbourne, Australia

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Officer to join our friendly, busy, and dynamic department in a full-time capacity. You will be the primary IT SPOC for Melbourne campus, responsible for IT deliverables, all IT related service delivery, stakeholder management and support IT facility in Richmond, Merrifield, & Geelong.

This is an on-site position located in Campbellfield, Victoria, and report into the IT Manager – Australia & New Zealand. You must be customer-oriented, solution-focused, and able to communicate effectively.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support IT, Business and Vendor managed infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, telecommunication network and virtualization platforms. Demonstrate knowledge of safe management of contractors and day to day tasks.

  • Maintain data centre facility and networking equipment, including routers, switches, and wireless access points, to support seamless communication within trusted corporate and with untrusted external networks.

  • Engage with relevant stakeholders, identifying business requirements for IT products and services. Act as "Voice of the customer", represents the customers by advocating local requirements, priorities, and customer feedback when working with global and regional service functional teams.

  • Serve as an escalation point for customers related IT services. Provide specialist advice to diagnose, resolve and facilitate resolution of all customer IT support issues, providing overall support to customers of applicable IT services globally.

  • Enforce corporate IT standards and process. Create and maintain comprehensive support documentation. Ensure resolutions are documented and added to the organization's knowledge repository.

You'll have...

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following areas (min 3 years of experience):

  • Data Centre facility management

  • Cisco network infrastructure

  • NAS storage solutions

  • Servers

  • Desktop management and application support.

  • Safety management of day-to-day tasks and contractor work.

  • Experience working within enterprise level IT infrastructure is desirable.

  • Proven business and IT analysis ability to investigate issues and requirements; identify and prioritize appropriate solutions. Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records. 

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, ability to effectively engage at a technical and non-technical level to different leadership levels within IT and stakeholders locally and regionally.

  • Strong customer focus with a continuous improvement and innovation mind-set. Demonstrate high standards of professional behavior and interpersonal skills when dealing with staff, contractors, and suppliers. 

  • Effective relationship management with ability to influence others/indirect reports. Ability to self-manage time to effectively engage with global counterparts across time zones.

  • Able to support emergency-on call requirements (out of business hours support) as required.
