About the role

  • As a Food Safety Executive, you will be part of our Quality Assurance team and collaborate closely with Stakeholders (Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and R&D team) to enforce the highest standards on food safety and the quality of the products. This role offers exposure to the industry’s food safety standards, drives the food safety culture of the organization and makes a positive impact on customers’ satisfaction and trust.

    Key responsibilities include

  • The Food Safety Executive's core mission is to Lead and drive the Risk assessment; Identify gaps and provide solutions for continuous improvement; and Implement robust control measures to mitigate any potential food safety risk.

  • Food Safety:

  • To implement and maintain the quality and food safety process in accordance with BC standards; FSSC 22000; and Customer requirements.

  • Lead investigation of customer complaints, food safety-related issues, verification of CAPA closure and improvement actions

  • Plan and facilitate audits which include but are not limited to Food Safety Standard; FSSC22000; Customer audit; Religious compliance (eg. Halal Certification)

  • Perform Gap assessment analysis against global food safety standards, and site implementation

  • Support for the implementation of the Food Safety Management System

  • Supporting the QA Manager during issues management

  • Verification and validation of CCP conformance

  • Support on Foreign Bodies Toolbox implementation

  • Develop quality culture behavior in the factory through training and knowledge sharing

  • Support on the new vendor approvals which includes but is not limited to the external warehouse, and bulk tank washing station.

  • Product Quality

  • Lead traceability investigations on the source of quality lapses and other product issues

  • Increase shopfloor awareness of performance and areas for improvement

  • People Development

  • Trainer on HACCP system, GMP, food safety and allergen training

    About you

  • Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Chemistry/Biology/Food Technology/Biochemistry

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in QC/QA/regulatory in the food industry

  • In-depth knowledge of food safety standard requirements (FSSC 22000, BRC) and Food Safety Management System

  • Experience in coordinating and executing internal audit program

  • Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Highly motivated and able to collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Communication in English

  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus

  • Experience in organizing and conducting Food safety and quality audits.

  • Ability to articulate the Food Safety compliance and Quality standards with the stakeholders.

  • Knowledge in food safety management system (FSMS)- FSSC 22000/BRC/HACCP/GMP

  • FSMS Lead auditor would be a plus

  • Knowledge of chocolate products/fats is a plus
