About our role

  • Work with our market leading vegetable brands – Edgell, Birdseye and Birdseye Deli

  • Execute product launches, category projects, communications and customer initiatives

  • Based at our head office in Mentone / Moorabbin

We now have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Brand Manager to join our Vegetable Marketing team based at our corporate head office in Mentone / Moorabbin. In this role you will have the opportunity to support & drive the performance of our market leading brands across Foodservice and Retail channels.

Key deliverables for the role include ensuring our targets for growth, innovation and brand equity are met, assisting the development of the annual strategic plans, and working closely with the cross functional teams to execute new product launches, category projects, brand communications, and customer initiatives.

You will understand the demands of the Foodservice (B2B) and grocery Retail channels and display a high level of initiative, personal drive and motivation. Proven experience working across multiple projects in a cross functional environment is a must, as are strong planning and organising skills.

What you will do

As part of your role, you will successfully:

  • Lead new product & packaging innovation projects end to end with cross functional teams

  • Contributing to the development of the 3-year strategic plan and innovation pipeline

  • Manage product portfolio of >80+ products.

  • Analyse market data and report on sales performance identifying gaps/areas for improvement

  • Conduct research to identify new sales opportunities for the business

  • Work with external agencies, internal sales and customer marketing teams to execute in-store and online activations

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the communication plan – including ATL creative, media & digital, and TTL activity

  • Facilitate the roll out of a Masterbrand packaging change

  • Support the brand planning process

  • Responsible for managing brand A&P

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Business with a major in Marketing or equivalent.

  • Excellent communication / stakeholder management skills

  • Understanding of the current FMCG environment.

  • Market analysis experience.

  • Experience managing complex projects within cross functional teams (an understanding of the Stage & Gate process).

  • Experienced (or an exposure to) to NPI process (stage and gate).

  • Financial awareness & commercial acumen.

The successful candidate will have experience as an Assistant Brand Manager or Marketing Assistant in a Food or FMCG industry. You will be highly motivated, driven and looking for your next big step to build your successful career in FMCG Brand Management.
