Robinson Brothers Construction, an experienced team of both underground and overhead telecommunications professionals is looking for a Field Maechanic based out of our Medford, Oregon location.

Job Purpose and Summary
A field mechanic is a professional who handles on-site installation, maintenance, and repairs of various types of machinery. Capable of working on transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, engines, and welding repairs.
The Field Mechanic is responsible for ensuring repairs on fleet and heavy equipment in the field are completed as assigned. The Field Mechanic will also assist in the heavy equipment repairs in the shop as backup. Support in heavy equipment maintenance as needed.
Valid Driver's License is required, premium pay for CDL. TRAVEL IS A RQUIREMENT
What You'll Do
Responsibility
Diagnose equipment problems and repair equipment at job sites
Document time and repairs
Drive service truck to and from repair locations
Heavy Equipment Maintenance support in shop as backup
Perform repair on hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and structural systems. Restore equipment to working order.
Provide accurate records as it relates to repair orders and time records.
Attend company sponsored factory training classes
Adhere to company and industry safety practices
Overtime may be required from time to time

What You'll Bring
Job Requirements and Qualifications
High school education or equivalent
Two years experience
Experience as Maintenance mechanic / Field mechanic / Heavy equipment mechanic
Knowledgeable in equipment repairs and troubleshooting
Ability to be creative on getting machines up and running
Vocational training can be helpful but a few years hands on training will better prepare you to work independently
CDL license is preferred, but not required premium pay for CDL
Able to listen and follow direction
Ability to be on call as needed
Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy loads
Maintain positive and effective interaction with customers, colleagues and equipment manufacturers.
MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL
Working Environment
Mainly field work with some shop/office work
Completing maintenance and mechanic work on heavy equipment
Applicants must submit to an MVR review, drug test & criminal background check
Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers, clients, general public and leadership.
Regional travel will be required to project locations.
Must be able to work some weekends and evenings when needed, be available after hours for stand-by work when needed
This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. This position operates in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme cold, rain, sleet, snow, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind. The outside work environment will vary throughout the day including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings, and/or rural settings. This position may occasionally be exposed to natural gas and to the risk of electrical shock. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable and sustained use of your arms, legs, and moving your entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, sitting standing, and handling of materials up to 50lbs.
Ability to wear proper safety apparel, which includes hard hats (when exiting truck on any worksite) where required, DOT reflective work vest, and proper footwear (boots)
Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, work in inclement weather, stand, and drive for extended periods of time.
Ability to utilize hand tools, identify wire size/color and accurately utilize measuring devices
The employee will need to have the ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours at a time), tolerate work in extreme weather conditions, speak and hear worksite safety instructions, withstand prolonged and repeated: lifting, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching and feeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee will need to be able to regularly lift 50 pounds.

Compensation Range
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $32.00/Hr. - USD $40.00/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
- Pay is based on the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the employee.
