Aston Carter Plant Accountant in Mebane, North Carolina

Senior Plant Accountant | Mebane, NC | $40-50/hr | 5 Month Contract

The Plant Finance Manager is a key member of the Finance team supporting the Mebane, NC plant. This position is responsible for providing cost and inventory control expertise. Focusing on analysis and interpretation of assigned manufacturing operations, to optimize financial performance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports Plant Controller in controlling assigned Mebane operations

  • Ensures accurate and timely monthly/annual closing by providing financial performance results and analysis for assigned operations. Supplements these with interpretation of results and recommendation of actions/plans for improvement.

  • Supports plant controller by assuming responsibility for Direct Production Cost / Period Expense Controlling, tracks Performance Improvement Plans (PAPs) / Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and prepares and distributes Weekly / Monthly Performance Reports, as assigned.

  • Participates in Operating Performance Review process by reconciling performance in SAP & AIMS, analyzes deviations / trends, and recommends improvements.

  • Supports the Plant Controller in the planning and accomplishment of annual plant budget requirements.

  • Pro-actively supports plant leadership team with ongoing review of manufacturing cost structure and suggestions for additional efficiency improvements

  • A key member of Cycle Count Control Programs and supports accurate valuation of inventories.

  • Key participant in developing and maintaining performance measures supporting the standard cost systems.

  • Develops, maintains, and audits annual product cost standard models for assigned operations.

  • Reconciles cost developed outside of SAP with SAP.

  • Participates in the Quote / New Item process by providing product cost information.

  • Provides Systems Support & Maintenance to ensure data integrity (including SAP & AIMS).

Job Qualifications And Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of Finance experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in SAP data environment is preferred.

  • Prior experience in World Class Manufacturing

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Lotus Notes.

  • Possesses professional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Can work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
