MD Anderson Cancer Center Postdoctoral Fellow - Gynecologic Oncology & Reproductive Medicine (Sood Lab) in Houston, Texas

The trainee will be responsible for carrying out experiments, recording and analyzing data, keeping a laboratory notebook/record according to lab policy, and attending routine lab meetings.

Laboratory-oriented projects will be lab-based involving tissue culture, extracellular vesicles, tumor microenvironment, molecular biology techniques, data analysis, figure design, and preparation, as well as animal work. Work will be manuscript-focused and will build toward eventual high-quality publications.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Extracellular vesicles:

Biology

Therapeutic applicability.

Molecular biology techniques (isolation, characterization).

In vivo techniques (models, surgery, treatment).

Tumor microenvironment:

Biology as it relates to extracellular vesicles and the interplay between the two.

Identify adaptive changes in the tumor microenvironment in response to targeted therapies.

Study potential therapeutic interventions to take advantage of findings.

Molecular biology techniques (in vitro assays for growth, viability, drug sensitivity, etc.)

In vivo techniques (models, surgery, treatment)

Data analysis:

Large data-set mining.

Statistical considerations for in vitro and in vivo work.

Figure design and preparation:

Designing impactful figures.

Software and data techniques for preparing figures methodically.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Ph.D. required.

Preference for candidates who are first author on at least two papers.

POSITION INFORMATION

MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 . depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience. MD Anderson trainee compensation also includes:
