Traffic Signal Installer

This position will be responsible for performing various duties of troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair duties on street lights and traffic signals.

American Lighting and Signalization (ALS) provides street lighting and traffic signalization construction, maintenance, and emergency response services in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States. Our major customers include state departments of transportation (DOTs), investor-owned and municipal utilities, commercial retail land developments, and commercial road contractors.

Job Type : Full-Time +, Non-Exempt

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and assist with the wiring of street lighting and traffic signal and equipment

  • Report to General Foreperson any issues involving maintenance of truck or equipment

  • Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate the work to be performed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Ability to work in a bucket or platform truck/device (L1-L3)

  • Able to read blueprints/plans and construct as per plans (L2-L3)

  • Able to direct and oversee Traffic Signal Laborers. (L2-L3)

  • Able to operate various equipment in order to install signal items (Bucket Truck, Digger Derrick/Boom Trk, etc) (L2-L3)

  • Able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call-out work. (ALL LEVELS)

Education & Experience:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.

Pre-Screen:

  • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:

  • Valid Driver's license required.

Travel Requirements:

  • This position will require the ability to travel to support our Region's projects.
