SAIC Senior Systems Engineer in MCLEAN, Virginia

Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Customer mission center is seeking a strong systems engineer to provide enhanced support to technical collection to meet mission strategies. The candidate will support senior mission center Customers on strategic and tactical requirements to augment technical solutions in support of important operational requirements. S/he will provide support to CONUS and OCONUS technical officers to help them effectively support the mission through new technical collection strategies. The candidate must be a self-starter who can effectively facilitate activities and see requirements through to successful conclusion by coordinating with multiple Customer elements including senior officials and external partners. Additional core duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Answer requirements related to telecommunications networks (ISP and cellular) and wireless protocols.

· Operate technical collection equipment and conduct readiness testing for field deployment.

· Develop and maintain technical documentation and user manuals.

· Prepare briefing slides, training material, and other technical project deliverables.

· Train users with varying levels of technical acumen on mission systems.

· Travel to the foreign field as needed to support technical requirements and mission operations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Current TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and (14) years or more of related experience. Masters and (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and (9) years or more experience.

  • Successful experience supporting a fast-paced Customer environment and senior leadership, along with experience supporting operational elements and multiple Customer offices. Previous work in a mission center is a plus.

  • Excellent technical project management experience developing project plans and briefings that capture requirements, roadmaps, constraints, risks, schedules, resource needs, and budget.

  • Advanced understanding of technical collection systems with an ability to demo system features and train users.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish professional rapport in a team environment and across organizational boundaries.

  • Collaboration skills to support relationships with stakeholders to elicit technical requirements and leverage partnerships.

  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Extensive experience planning and tracking technical projects and deliverables.

  • Advanced communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Skilled with Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the Customer’s cable system to track, draft, and respond to cables.

  • Previous TDY or PCS experience.
