BAE Systems Program Manager II in McLean, Virginia

Job Description

This is a position for a leader and program manager. We are looking for a PM, preferably with technical programs leadership experience as well as DOJ/FBI programs experience. We have multiple programs in the northern Virginia area that are growing and require dynamic leaders that have a passion for mentoring and growing cohesive teams. Programs range from 20 to 250 in team size. Small programs are highly sensitive, strategically important, and quite interesting. Large programs 24/7 mission focused with need for leaders that can mentor and grow new leaders as well.

Work involves on site and remote work supporting the customer meetings, projects, and purchases. Customer meetings may be about program needs, process improvement, or personnel performance. Often meetings may require translating technical team progress and obstacles to the customer and customer needs and expectations to the team.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

The number one skill is the ability to write and verbally communicate concisely and effectively. Must be a team builder that can motivate and build rapport with customer executive level, contracting, and program technical leads as well as team members. At least five years experience leading and managing federal programs of increasing size and complexity. Experience developing and managing to a budget. Experience interviewing, hiring, and mentoring new employees. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential to success. Ability to adjust to changing priorities and ability to respond flexibly to after-hours requests for assistance from either customer or employees.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Bachelor's degree and PMP is highly desirable. PMP equivalent training or education such as National Defense University IRM Advanced Management Program may be acceptable to the customer. Experience and training in ITIL and Agile processes is highly desirable. Scrum Master certification is a major plus. Experience with DOJ and specifically FBI programs is a major plus.

Proficient using the Microsoft Office suite with expertise using Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
