For Capital One’s Small Business Credit Card (SBC) division, we aspire to be the leading small business purchasing program in the United States. This is supported by our passion to help small businesses succeed and drive to fuel the courageous entrepreneurial spirit among our Small Business customers and our Associates. Small businesses have unique spending needs; sometimes opportunities come along that require them to amp up their spending quickly, and they need solutions to help them succeed. But that can be risky for the lender -- how can we support our small businesses without adding undue risks for the company? That’s where this team comes in: our team’s products help our highest line Small Business customers spend what they need while still protecting the company from risk. We do this by using cutting edge technology, real-time data, and the ingenuity of a team of passionate product managers, designers, engineers, data scientists, and analysts working to redefine how millions of customers interact with their money.

Our team leverages Small Businesses’ data to power Business Cards & Payment products. We are currently focused on getting more businesses to enroll in our data sharing capabilities as well as on coming up with innovative ways to leverage that data - e.g.: We are already leveraging external financial information to improve parts of our Small Business underwriting process.

In this role, you will take ownership for defining and operationalizing some of the company’s most important data. You will work closely with business analysts, engineers, and other cross functional teams to create integrated roadmaps, prioritize development, define metrics and key results, and deliver scalable, quality Data Products that power the company’s most critical experiences. You will own the scaling of our connected banking products and infrastructure to be automation-ready. Delivering value to our customers while learning and building the capabilities and features required for automated decisioning. You will be accountable for helping create and then delivering on a strategy for where and how we scale the use of bank data in underwriting. Helping to harness the combined power of external financial data, and other new business data sources to deliver increased PVol and NPV to the business.

In this role, you’ll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in five key areas

  • You’ll understand and leverage technology and end-state architecture vision to partner with technology team to drive comprehensive design decisions out of white space technical problems

  • You’ll share business strategy and roadmap with Tech partners to establish context while also leading and facilitating agile ceremonies alongside Tech Lead

  • You’ll develop and communicate a 6-month vision to senior stakeholders and partner teams with accurate details and transparency on risks and impediments, and proactively build relationships with those outside of your immediate team resulting in horizontal influence

  • You’ll Contribute to team culture and recruiting by leading activities to attract and retain top talent and mentoring and developing junior product associates

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years of product management experience or at least 3 years of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

  • MBA or Master’s degree

  • 2+ years of experience in Agile product management
