Amentum Electrician in McLean, Virginia

Amentum is Seeking an Electrician to join our team in McLean, VA ! As an Electrician you will support a Monday - Thursday 4:30 pm - 2:30 am shift. Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain, and make necessary tests on all electrical systems and equipment 600v or less throughout the facilities. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US Government clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Shift: Monday - Thursday 4:30 pm - 2:30 am.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work from prints, diagrams, specification, and instructions covering emergency and scheduled repairs; as well as demolition, installation, testing, and inspection of work to be done on electrical systems.

  • Perform preventive maintenance, repair, or replacement of electrical equipment on AC and/or DC systems.

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, modify, install, and repair electrical equipment and circuits using prints, diagrams, and test instruments.

  • Test, inspect, clean, repair, dismantle, adjust, replace, assemble, maintain, and lubricate all manual or automatic AC and DC systems, electrical? equipment, transformers, switchgear, control panels, regulators, and various other electrical apparatus.

  • Prepare and maintain records and reports on electrical systems equipment, as required for maintenance programs on the basis of all information obtained through tests.

  • Install conduit, wiring and electrical apparatus.

  • Read blueprints and generate bill of materials.

  • Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.

  • Maintain part and tool inventories.

  • Directs other repair personnel, as assigned.

MINIMUN REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School, Technical School, Apprenticeship, Trade School Graduate or Equivalent required.

  • Journeyman Electrical License.

  • Thorough working knowledge of national and local electrical codes.

  • Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.

  • A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required.

  • Four years maintenance and/or construction experience in the electrical trade required.

  • Ability to write correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US Government clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
