Job Description:

This role is to execute as the Chief Engineer responsible for technical leadership on Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS) programs, specifically High Energy Laser (HEL) production phases. The selected candidate will be responsible for improving our ability to successfully transition concepts to designs that are producible with predictable results to support our business goals. This leader implements the transition to production and execution of the production phase of the program(s). They will provide direct engagement on our top technical issues and guide program and factory teams to an expedited disposition of the issue(s) and craft the most effective and efficient corrective action(s). It is also expected that this leader will be working with suppliers on corrective action, requirements verticality and more. This Chief Engineer will interact with the McKinney CMC PACE, Product Line Chief Engineers, Operations LT and the Engineering LT to understand their needs and to shape these effective solutions.

This leader must also engage directly with the Operations execution team in driving common understanding of cost drivers related to yield, producabilty and requirements volatility on the program(s). This effort will be focused on driving execution efficiency and will also be supported by the McKinney CMC PACE.

The selected candidate must also be an effective mentor to cross disciplined factory engineers that will be allocated to support the sustainment of the production phase of EWS/HEL programs.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of professional related working experience, with demonstrated experience leading cross functional, matrixed teams.

  • Previous IPT or functional leadership with a track record of strong performance in execution goals including cost and schedule measures.

  • Team building and motivational skills - leading teams in disciplined engineering processes.

  • Strong communication skills with experience presenting technical trends, yield analysis and recommendations to leadership and cross functional teams; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence leadership and customers.

  • Critical thinking skills that support the ability to impact change necessary to drive effective execution.

  • Excellent and demonstrated collaboration capability to ensure the best solutions are found to support program goals.

  • Knowledge of RIS Engineering products, technologies, and processes.

  • Experience with system and/or subsystem level Integration, Verification and Validation (IV & V).

  • Experience with requirements analysis and verification to support component requirement (supplier parts) and assembly level requirements flow down.

  • Experience with EO/IR test equipment metrology.

  • Self-motivated and capable of performing tasks with minimal oversight.

  • Experience with risk and opportunity management.

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require an active U.S. security clearance as of day one of employment

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Engineering functional manager and/or chief engineer.

  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

  • Experience supporting EO/IR products with a focus on laser integration.

Required Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in a STEM related discipline.
