Job Summary:

Raytheon is seeking a talented Senior Systems Security Engineer (SSE) to join the SSE Sensors Space & Air Department. This position is in a technical growth area and we need individuals who can apply their technical knowledge and experience to system security engineering and program protection concerns within the key areas of cybersecurity, anti-tamper, software assurance, supply chain exploitation, and threat and design vulnerability analysis.

Responsibilities To Anticipate:

  • Participate in the development of embedded security solutions and be responsible for leading and executing the security efforts for secure system products

  • Generate security subsystem specifications, security subsystem architecture, interface descriptions, Critical Program Information (CPI) assessments, and vulnerability assessments

  • Work independently and as a member of a team in coordination with engineers in development, integration, test and modeling

  • Exhibit a high degree of creativity and ingenuity and be responsible for developing advanced systems /security integrity and information assurance leveraging Anti-Tamper guidelines and concepts

  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers and brief senior company and customer leadership teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5+ years of engineering experience

  • An active and transferable DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Experience designing, implementing, testing, and fielding real-time Embedded security oriented solutions on Department of Defense (DoD) programs

  • Experience with secure systems technologies, methodologies, policies, and guidelines

  • Experience with design/development/implementation in at least one of the following areas: Anti-Tamper (HW, SW, Systems), Cybersecurity, Software, DevSecOPs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing top-level system requirements and flowed down requirements and implementation details to subsystems

  • Experience with direct interfaces with customer representatives and external suppliers

  • Has worked with commercial-off-the-shelf security technologies and trusted products

  • Eligible to obtain additional program-level special clearances

  • Experience with System Integrity

  • Experience with cryptography and cryptographic applications

  • Experience with Anti-Tamper, and other security-related engineering products/systems

  • Experience and/or training in Earned Value Management

  • Experience with Supply Chain Risk Analysis

  • Experience and/or training with Project Management

  • Experience with multi-level security solutions

  • Prior work experience in both Systems Engineering and Software Engineering practices

  • History of interaction with customers to define requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and effectiveness

  • Experience with security standards, methods, and policies; risk and threat analysis; technical security safeguards; and operational security measures

  • Has worked on Program Protection Plan (PPP) required by DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 5200.39

  • Published written and/or verbal communications

  • Certifications (i.e. CISSP, Security+)

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
