Summary This job opportunity is for an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, position description D1366000, within the 108th MXS of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. Its primary purpose is to inspect, repair, modify, and service aircraft systems, components, and assemblies, both on- and off-aircraft. Responsibilities As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, WG-8852-10, you will: Perform inspections, functional checks, and preventive maintenance on aircraft Perform major adjustments and alignments of aircraft systems or components Remove and replace aircraft components Perform operator maintenance on aircraft installed auxiliary power units Launch and recover assigned and transient aircraft to include those on alert status Performs other duties as assigned Requirements Conditions of Employment Areas of Consideration: All permanent, on-board, Title 32 Employees within the New Jersey National Guard All New Jersey National Guard members (M-Day, Traditional, Active Guard Reserve, and Drill-Status Guardsmen) Individuals eligible for membership in the New Jersey National Guard Military Grades: E-3 to E-5 Compatible Military Assignments: 2A5X4 Selectee has one (1) year to obtain required AFSC Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
