This position is responsible for helping with set up the production and mixing schedule, assisting with workflow processes, and participating on project teams relating to work group. This position assists Value Stream Team Leaders with activities and fills in on the production floor when needed. .

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Operate material handling equipment such as standup and sit-down forklifts, walkie-riders and material tuggers.

  2. Keep accurate records of all materials and weigh when required

  3. Maintain appropriate inventory documentation through computer transactions.

  4. Stretch wrap material, if required.

  5. Dump scrap tubs as required.

  6. Change batteries of equipment as required.

  7. Must use some physical effort to perform job duties.

  8. Must maintain operator certification for material handling equipment.

  9. Able to foster professionalism with all associates along with internal and external customers

  10. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.

    DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  11. Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.

  12. Participate on project teams, star point teams and kaizen events when needed.

  13. Attend and participate in all training opportunities required to develop in the role

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Education:

    High School diploma or GED preferred

    Experience:

    Previous experience in manufacturing preferred

    Preferred Skills/ Qualifications:

  14. Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  15. Sound decision making skills

  16. Good math, reading and writing skills

  17. Be able to exercise continuous mental, visual, and audio attention

    Skills/ Competencies:

  18. Basic computer skills

  19. Vision: Near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks

  20. Requires constant alertness to surroundings and product quality with attention to detail

  21. Must be able to operate material handling equipment and hoist, if needed

    · Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader

    · Work closely with other departments to resolve issues with the processes & equipment

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    The employee may be subject to:

    · High noise levels from operating machines and equipment

    · Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels

    · Exposure to nuisance fumes

  24. Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, high visibility clothing)

  25. Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis

  26. Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions

  27. Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime

    The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
