Gigantic Bag (Plastic Film LLC) Maintenance Technician in McComb, Mississippi

Full-time Maintenance Technician. Must be available to work first or second shift. Weekend work is possible from time to time. 5 years of experience preferred. Electrical/Mechanical. Must comprehend circuit drawings, knowledgeable in AC/DC controllers, rewiring circuits, gear motors, clutch brakes, welding, hydraulics, blowers, and forklift repair and maintenance. Must be mechanically and electrically inclined. Experience with blown film operations and poly bag converting a plus. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

Gigantic Bag Maintenance Technicians are responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems, and processes. Preference will be given to candidates who have industrial maintenance and plastics extrusion experience.

Work could consist of any of the following:

  • Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with safety/operational standards.
  • Works on projects as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Performs preventative maintenance as required.
  • Maintains building, grounds, and utility systems.
  • Aids in the training of new maintenance employees.
  • Other duties may be assigned from time to time.

Preferred abilities:

  • Must be able to work well with others as part of a team.
  • Must possess a willingness to learn and an eagerness to grow.
  • Must be able to follow detailed directions.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Understand thermocouples and electric heating coils.
  • Understand ladder logic.
  • Perform and support all preventative and scheduled maintenance procedures.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues to maximize production.
  • Diagnose problems, replace, repair, and test parts, and adjust as needed.
  • Detect faulty operations and defective material.
  • Weld and fabricate parts as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and on call as needed.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Proficient with pneumatic systems and components
  • Maintain part and supply inventory.
  • Operate fork trucks, platform trucks, and other power lifts as needed.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and welding and cutting equipment.

Requirements:

  • Able to work off shift, and possibly some Saturdays.
  • Supply own hand tools.
  • Operate DMM
  • Maintain paperwork for preventative maintenance program.
  • Ability to work independently, with little to no direction.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
