Job Description:

Cyber Risk Management Framework (RMF) Specialists prepare documentation such as Risk Assessment Report, System Security Plans, Security Assessment Reports, and Plan of Action and Milestones to ensure compliance with government security policies and procedures. Cyber RMF Specialists assist the Government customer to generate and maintain security documents for system HW and SW, to include System Security Plans, equipment lists, practices, and procedures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess performance of security controls based on NIST 800-53A within IT infrastructure Remain current with latest DoD, Navy, and Marine Corps Cybersecurity doctrine

  • Identify vulnerabilities resulting from departures from approved procedures and plans

  • Evaluate potential security risks and make recommendations regarding corrective, mitigation, and recovery actions

  • Ensure applicable patches are implemented, including IA vulnerability alerts and bulletins, IC vulnerability alerts, technical advisories, and operational directives. Research, evaluate, and provide feedback on problematic cybersecurity trends and patterns in customer support requirements

  • Perform system audits to assess security related factors within the IT infrastructure

  • Review response actions to security incidents

  • Ensure associated entities are properly maintaining repositories for all system authorization documentation, which should include the ability to identify and analyze security requirements to recommend upgrades, patches, new applications, necessary equipment, and technical support and guidance to users

  • Participate in the Continuous Monitoring process

  • Ensure the appropriate operational cybersecurity posture is maintained for a system or enclave

  • Support and assist in development of system security packages based on current doctrine

  • Provide physical, information, and personnel security for cyber and other SAP and CAP information, hardware, software, networks, and facilities, including the CAP Coordination Office (CAPCO)

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years’ relevant experience (four with an associate degree, two with a bachelor’s degree)

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II and IAM Level II certified

  • Be familiar with the RMF process and applicable guidance (NIST 800-53, NIST 800-37, CNSSI 1253, FIPS 199, ICD 503, etc.)

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
