BTC BANK Customer Service Representative (CSR) in Maysville, Missouri

Work Location:This position will be based at our Maysville, MO location

Hours: 40 hours per week, including Saturday rotation

Job Purpose:Customer service representatives respond to customer inquiries via telephone and face-to-face meetings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with routine account-related requests such as: funds transfers, automatic funds transfers, stop payments, inquiries about bank deposit products and service charges, inquiries about debit card usage and limits, inquiries about checking and savings accounts transactions, inquiries about funds availability, and check verification requests by third parties.
  • Cashes checks, cash withdrawals and processes cash advances; pays out money after verification of signatures.
  • Counts, checks and packages coins and currency.
  • Receives checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifies amounts, examines checks for proper endorsement, and enters deposits into computer records.
  • Balances cash drawer at the end of the shift and compares totaled amounts to computer-generated proof sheet. Reports any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.
  • Responsible for checking night depository bags with dual control and recording proper information in the financial institutions forms.
  • Open all types of deposit accounts.
  • Process branch proof thru machine and balance daily.
  • Research and resolve customer problems, acting as the customer liaison between other bank departments when necessary, including printing statement and check copies.
  • Cross-sell bank products and services based on customers needs.
  • Relate customer requests for service charge rebates to the Branch President.
  • Assist customers in balancing checkbooks.
  • Assist customers with all aspects of debit cards.
  • Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds,distribute documentation to customers and properly log.
  • Monitor and balance cash vault on a weekly basis, and maintain dual control for safekeeping access.
  • Act as backup to the receptionist when needed.
  • Process lockbox payments, including deposit preparation and daily report transmission.
  • Contact customers to obtain necessary signatures on items with missing or irregular signatures.
  • Maintain the banks files for currency transaction reports, customer safekeeping receipts, loan and trust collateral receipts, commercial resolutions, powers of attorney, court orders, levies, miscellaneous deposit documentation and general correspondence.
  • Receives loan payments and ensures the payments match balances due. Enters payments into computer and generates customer receipts.
  • Carries out responsibilities with professionalism and respect for others.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
