Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Aviation Cadet Pool, Outdoor Recreation on Maxwell AFB, AL. This position is an Intermittent/Flexible position, which means you may be scheduled from 0 to 40 hours per week based on mission need. This position is a Term position and the appointment will not last beyond 1 Oct 2024. Physical Effort: Must be able to lift and carry 45 pounds and occasionally over with assistance. Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities: The following are duties you may be required to accomplish but it is not all inclusive: - Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. - Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area. - Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed. - Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions, ocean conditions of rough water or hazards, and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail. - When working at pools, may operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards. -Ensures that diving boards are inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting, and that necessary repairs are made. - May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include: cleaning of bath houses, wading pools, main pools, pool decks, beach areas, sunbathing areas, etc. If interested in applying for this position you may preview the online application: https://apply.usastaffing.gov/ViewQuestionnaire/12375288 Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: Open to everyone. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
