    CLINICAL: 1. Provide wound care consultations and educational support to residents and their family regarding wound care management. 2. Provide clinical support and coordination for wound care services on a weekly and as needed consultative basis. 3. Facilitate consultations by specially trained wound care physicians as necessary. 4. Contribute to nursing orientation with a focus on skin assessment, documentation and prevention of pressure ulcers. 5. Assist in the development of key clinicians to facilitate the skin and wound care program. 6. Contribute to discharge planning meetings on units managing patients with wound. MANAGEMENT/EDUCATION: 1. Develop and provide staff training to develop wound care skills for the bedside nurses. 2. Contribute to the needs assessment and competency development related to wound care for clinical staff providing direct patient care. 3. Participate in the facility multidisciplinary wound care rounds. 4. Contribute to nursing orientation with a focus on skin assessment, documentation and prevention of pressure ulcers. 5. Monitor the appropriate use of specialty beds using criteria approved by the hospital. COMMUNICATE: 1. Demonstrate excellent skills in the area of interpersonal relations. This relationship includes the ability to coach other resident care personnel in the delivery of patient care. The approach to all customers must be sensitive and courteous, maintaining a professional, yet personable relationship. This position has a high impact on the quality of resident care. 2. Collaborate with the clinical nurse manager and designee at the Wound Healing Center (when applicable) to assure continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient service lines, to include referrals to the outpatient Wound Healing Center upon discharge. 3. Provide monthly reports to the Admiistrator, DNS and Corporate Director of Nursing and that summarize consultative, educational, and staff support services provided. 4. Follow proper channels of communication anticipating and consistently handling daily routine problems while recognizing complex issues that need referral. 5. Support and encourage harmonious working relationships and team building skills. 6. Consistently demonstrate openness to receiving and giving constructive feedback. 7. Identify problems/concerns and discuss them professionally. Qualifications: At least one year of experience in wound care and acute care experience. Case management and discharge planning experience are preferred. Certification, Registration, or Licensure: Current R.N. license; current CPR certification for the Healthcare Provider (BLS); Wound Certification preferred (AAWM or WOCN certifying bodies preferred). Education/Experience: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
