JOB SUMMARY:

This role is responsible for maintaining the supply chain for the company customer and managing the operational execution of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) strategies. Manages deliverables, resolves delivery and supply issues, and communicates between suppliers customer and the company.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES :

  1. Manages the execution of VMI strategies.

  2. Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties to provide information and/or providing direction.

  3. Monitors customer satisfaction of goods and services received.

  4. Ability to manage supply in an ever-changing environment, to include expediting, de-expediting and cancelling of purchase orders.

  5. Generate RFQ’s for competitive bidding of commodities to result in cost reductionWork with Kroger Lead Buyers to confirm strategies.

  6. Manage team of VMI Buyers to execute buying strategies

  7. Maintains a variety of manual and electronic records of VMI transactions.

  8. Processes documents such as purchase orders, and shipping documents, and commercial invoices to fulfill orders, collecting/distributing payments to and from customers and vendors.

  9. Reconciles purchase orders and invoices. With deliveries.

  10. Manage supply of materials to achieve inventory goals.   Ability to negotiate stocking programs (VMI, Kanban, JIT) to reduce both lead time and inventory

  11. Manually track inventory levels and demands by division.

  12. Period Forecasting

  13. Weekly Forecast Updates

  14. *Manage the supply chain to ensure quality and on time delivery of materials to meet production schedules. *

  15. Interface with Demand planningPlanning, sales, service, engineering, production, finance and other departments as required to achieve customer satisfaction

  16. Ability to negotiate contracts with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing and service levels.

  17. Responsible for the identification and development of suppliers to ensure supply continuity and optimization for quality, cost and delivery.

  18. Monitors account balances and related financial activity to ensure that allocations are accurate.

  19. Meets with Customer Lead buyers daily to discuss strategies.

  20. May assume other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification

  • Must have inventory control experience with a focus in VMI

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Good math skills

  • Must be well-organized with good attention to detail

  • Display strong work ethic and positive attitude

  • Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperation with others

  • Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance

  • Ability to apply logic and understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, instructions and to deal with problems involving a few different variables.
