About the Team The QA Engineer Role will provide leadership for the primary team through an understanding of multiple technical areas and industry standard best practices. Demonstrates ability to take technically complex features and strategically break them down into understandable, workable units for WEX Health teams. How you'll make an impact Team Collaboration Assist in replicating Service Request issues and provide feedback to resolve the issue Contribute to release night application validation activities. Solid understanding of SDLC testing activities for assigned feature work and mentor other team members in those activities. Contribute in team conversations, meetings, and feature discussions. Test Design and Planning Review implementation requirements to provide meaningful, timely and critical feedback to improve the requirements. Estimate and prioritize project requests across areas of the application. Create and execute detailed, comprehensive and well structured test plans and test cases for features and maintenance bugs requiring test coverage. Develop and execute test automation scripts. Report required test metrics. Assists with internal partner initiatives. Project Implementation Review error logs in all environments in order to troubleshoot solution defect and environment issues. Identify feature related bugs and performance improvements and create corresponding documentation. Support major and minor production releases. Quickly troubleshoot, evaluate, and resolve any issues that arise. Efficiently and effectively produce high quality throughput. Review production and lower environments to ensure high quality performance by identifying new monitor requests. Product Proficiency Solid understanding of the primary product domain and downstream effects of changes to it. Basic knowledge of other product domains within the division. A subject matter expert and is sought out by others for peer reviews, advice, and/or problem solving. Leadership Willing to step into other roles, as capable, to ensure projects meet defined deadlines. Serve as a mentor to others and help guide team direction. Participate in hiring activities and provide feedback on potential candidates. Lead multiple features or components from inception through the full product deployment cycle, including the integration, customer acceptance testing, release, and production support phases. Advocate for critical code fixes for a feature area during triage as appropriate for the product release cycle, also able to negotiate when a code change is not in the best interest. Identify areas of functional weakness and improve test coverage for those areas. Recommend ways to load-balance test work items which results in more efficient testing. Work in a cross functional team environment to ensure successful execution and delivery of project commitments. Comprehension of other functional teams including contractors, software architects, business analysts, developers, configuration management, networking, and business operations personnel. Facilitate team meetings as needed, including scrum master ceremonies if applicable to the team.
