Job Description:

The Buyer sources and purchases mechanical and electro-mechanical parts, machinery, equipment, tools, raw material and packaging materials from manufacturers necessary for operation of an organization.

Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, places orders, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment and maintains necessary records. Prepares bid packages.

  • Handling Invoice Issues

  • Working closely with suppliers

  • Negotiation Skills

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience OR Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

  • Three years or more experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Three years or more experience in negotiations

  • Three years or more experience in the procurement of mechanical and electro-mechanical commodities.

  • Three years or more experience in the field and will represent the organization as the prime contact on a project or program.

  • Three years or more experience in a real time MRP environment.

  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • Must be eligible to obtain a Security clearance.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Procurement experience with DoD and Government Contracts.
